"We stayed here for 2 nights then extended it to 4 as we loved it here it is more like a hotel not a hostel it is nice and clean, rooms are massive with very good aircon, bedding changed every day and clean towels. the staff are very friendly and the food is the best. thanks for a great stay we will definately be back."

"This was truly a gem - a great find during our two weeks in Thailand and Cambodia. It was a little difficult for the mini-bus driver to find from the airport, but if you tell them to drop you off by the Kata Night Bazaar you'll find it easily. It's a close walk to Kata beach, the rooms are huge, very clean, comfortable and the staff were great! I would definitely come here again."

"More like a hotel than a hostel, the room was very clean and we had our own fridge and TV. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the owner had many connections which made booking the day tours very easy. Definitely recommended, Southern Fried Rice completely exceeded our expectations!!!"

"The owner is norwegian. He is extremely helpful and can book any tour you want. Convenience, cleanliness and friendliness is what you will find here. I had a great time at this hostel."

"Such an amazing place!! The staff is incredibly friendly, the location is awesome (only a few minutes walk to a nice beach) and there's a TON of stuff to do in the area. I will definitely be coming back!"

"Despite visiting Phuket in the low season, I really enjoyed my stay and would thoroughly reccomend Southern Fried Rice as a place to stay. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and it is located close to Kata beach which is quieter than Patong beach."

"An excellent little place located a short walk from the beach. Beautiful room and a very friendly owner. Great value for money. Make sure you get a taxi from the airport or call ahead and get the owner to arrange something for you. The minibuses from the airport took us to a travelagent and tried to get us to book elsewhere. Then took 2 hours to find our place!"
